Holy Warrior Combat Abilities

Blessed Hammer
- Requires: Holy Bolt
- Duration: Instant
- Range: 200' (61 m)
- Targets: One target creature
- Saving Throw: None
- P.P.E.: 12
- Description: With age comes experience and power. For the Holy Warrior, this experience
manifests in the ability to draw greater amounts of power from his god, especially the power to
slay his enemies. The Blessed Hammer ability is a more powerful version of the Holy Bolt
ability available much earlier in a Holy Warrior's career and like Holy Bolt, this ability
inflicts greater damage upon the sworn enemies of the Holy Warrior's god. When activated,
Blessed Hammer manifests as a large war hammer made of energy that flies towards the chosen
target. When used against normal enemies of the Holy Warrior, Blessed Hammer inflicts 5D6 points
of damage and when used against the natural enemies of the Holy Warrior, the Holy Bolt inflicts
2D4x10 points of damage. Increase the damage inflicted by Blessed Hammer by +1D6 per level of
experience, starting at level 11.
Charge
- Requires: Smite
- Duration: Instant

- Description: Fear shows only one thing: a lack of faith, and there is nothing worse
for a Holy Warrior then a lack of faith. With his faith in hand, a Holy Warrior can summon
the power of his god to create a burst of speed. When this ability is activated, the Holy
Warrior can move a number of feet equal to their Spd attribute x20 divided by the number of
attacks per melee he possesses, however, the movement must be in a straight line. For
example, a warrior with a Spd attribute of 14 and four attacks per melee could move 70'
(21.3 m). At the end of the movement, the Holy Warrior can make a single attack with a bonus
of +2 to strike and +3 to damage at level 5 and an additional +1 to strike and +2 to damage
at levels 7, 9, 11, 13, and 15.
Fist of the Heavens
- Requires: Blessed Hammer, Holy Bolt, Sacrifice, Vengeance, Zeal
- Duration: 1 melee round per level of experience
- Range: 100' (30.5 m)
- Targets: 1 target per melee attack
- Saving Throw: Save vs. spell magic
- P.P.E.: 40
- Description: With this ability, a Holy Warrior can call upon the wrath of his god to
smite his enemies. This power manifests as a powerful, vertical bolt of energy crashing out
of the sky to strike a target. Once this ability is activated, until its duration ends, the
Holy Warrior can use a melee action to summon a bolt of energy that inflicts 2D6x10 points
of energy damage against a designated target. A creature from another dimension must succeed
on a save vs. spell magic or be sent back to its home dimension and creatures in their home
dimension cannot leave the dimension for one hour unless they succeed on a save vs. spell
magic. While the bolt comes from the sky, this ability can be used in any environment, even
underwater or underground and the bolt simply comes from the ceiling.
Holy Bolt

- Description: A Holy Warrior learns early in his career how to call upon the energies
of his god. This energy manifests in a bolt of energy that causes damage to the warriors
enemies, especially the enemies of his god, but can also be used to heal the warrior's allies.
When used against normal enemies of the Holy Warrior, the Holy Bolt inflicts 3D6 points of
damage, when used against the natural enemies of the Holy Warrior, the Holy Bolt inflicts 5D6
points of damage, and when used against the allies of the Holy Warrior, the Holy Bolt heals
2D6 points of damage. Increase the damage inflicted or healed by a Holy Bolt by +1 per level
of experience. The natural enemies of a Holy Warrior of a Principled, Scrupulous, or
Unprincipled god are the undead, deevils, and demons. The natural enemies of a Miscreant or
Diabolic god are angels and spirits of light. Other natural enemies can include a particular
group or type of creature that is particularly hated by the Holy Warrior's diety. For example,
the god could despise Dwarves, making them his natural enemy. A GM should be careful about
choosing the natural enemies of a God or allowing them to expand beyond reasonable limits. For
example, saying that all living creatures are the natural enemies of a god of Death sounds
reasonable, but such a God wouldn't have living Holy Warriors. Increase the damage inflicted
by this ability against normal enemies by +1D6 and against natural enemies by +2D6 for each the
followings abilities known by the warrior: Blessed Hammer and Fist of the Heavens.
Holy Shield
- Requires: Blessed Hammer, Charge, Holy Bolt, and Smite
- Duration: 1 melee round per level of experience
- Targets: A shield wielded by the Holy Warrior
- P.P.E.: 25
- Description: To a Holy Warrior, a shield represents not just protection, but a
symbol of his faith. The shield becomes a focus for a properly devout Holy Warrior to
channel his god's energy; the purer his faith, the greater the defense. This ability
transforms a non-magical shield into a powerful magic item granting its wielder +2 to
parry for a Buckler, +3 to parry for a small shield, +5 to parry for a large shield,
and +8 to parry for a tower shield. Increase the shield's S.D.C. by three times and
each time the shield is hit by a melee attack, the shield inflicts 2d6 points of energy
damage and an additional +1d6 points of energy damage at levels 13, 14, and 15.
Sacrifice

- Description: Self-Sacrifice is a symbol for all faiths and a requirement for a Holy
Warrior, both good and evil. One of the first abilities a Holy Warrior has access to,
Sacrifice allows the warrior to sacrifice a small amount of hit points in order to inflict
more damage, however, using this ability too much can lead to deadly results for the Holy
Warrior. At first level, a Holy Warrior can increase the damage they inflict with an attack
by +25%, but they take 10% of the total damage inflicted directly to hit points. Increase
the damage bonus of this ability by +5% per level of experience. For example, a 6th level
Holy Warrior using this ability on an attack that inflicted 26 points of damage would
actually inflict 40 points of damage (26 x 1.55 = 40.3 -> 40), but the Holy Warrior would
take 4 points of damage directly to hit points as a result. Unlike some abilities that
require a melee attack to activate, this ability can be activated at will, but only once
for each attack.
Smite
- Duration: Instant
- P.P.E.: Varies, minimum of 3 PPE, see description below.
- Description: In the same way that Sacrifice increases the damage of an attack at the
cost of hit points, Smite increases the damage of an attack at the cost of PPE. For every 3
PPE spent when this ability is activated, a Holy Warrior can increase the damage of an
attack by +10%. However, the maximum percentage bonus that a Holy Warrior can use is equal
to four times his level of experience times ten. For example, a 7th level Holy Warrior has a
maximum percentage bonus of +280%, but to do so would cost 84 PPE. Unlike some abilities that
require a melee attack to activate, this ability can be activated at will, but only once for
each attack.
Vengeance
- Requires: Sacrifice and Zeal
- Duration: 1 melee round at level 7 and an additional melee round per level of
experience starting at level 8.

- Description: When a Holy Warrior undertakes a crusade to banish the enemies of hid
god, he is permitted to call upon the souls of previous Holy Warriors. These souls, killed
in their own crusades, lend their energies to the weapons of the Holy Warrior. While this
ability is active, any weapon held by the Holy Warrior inflicts an additional +1D6 points
of fire damage, +1D4 points of energy damage, and +1D4 points of cold damage. This damage
increases by +1D6 fire damage and +1D4 energy and cold damage at levels 10, 13, and 15. In
addition, the Holy Warrior gains a bonus of +1 to strike at level 7 and an additional +1 to
strike at levels 9, 11, 13, and 15.
Zeal
- Requires: Sacrifice
- Duration: 1 melee round at fifth level and an additional melee round at levels 8, 12,
and 15.

- Description: Fervent in his dedication to his god, a Holy Warrior is gifted with a
strong spirit that he can draw upon in combat. In the din of combat, all who stand in the
way of a Holy Warrior are stopped him from performing the duties of his god, so they must be
vanquished. This ability increases the speed with which the Holy Warrior attacks and
increases his accuracy and the damage he inflicts. At fifth level, a Holy Warrior gains +1
attack per melee and +1 to strike. However, the extra attack can only be used to attack a
target that the Holy Warrior previously attacked that melee round. At levels 7, 10, 13, and
15, the Holy Warrior gains an additional +1 attack per melee and +1 to strike, but the
conditions of these attacks remain the same; they can only be directed against targets
already attacked that melee round. At levels 8, 12, and 15, the Holy Warrior also gains a
bonus of +5 to damage rolls from the extra attacks.
