Description: With Flowstone Magic, the Stone Master is capable of creating a powerful suit of armor made out of flowstone. When worn by a Stone Master, the armor is amazingly lightweight and flexible, weighing only 10 lbs (4.5 kg), and has excellent mobility, with only a -5% penalty to prowl. The armor cannot be worn by anyone that cannot use Flowstone Magic. The armor is not fully environmental, but it can be worn over protective equipment and even a helmet from another suit of armor. A Stone Master can use a suit of Flowstone Armor that was created by another Stone Master.
The armor is able to shift around, providing additional protection where it is needed. This allows the armor to have a single pool of M.D.C. where all damage is inflicted, unlike other armor that has specific M.D.C. values for certain areas. The wearer can also improve either the armor's M.D.C. value or its Armor Rating, but as one increases, the other value decreases. By spending 10 PPE, the wearer can increase the armor's M.D.C. by +15, but lowers its Armor Rating by -1, or the wearer can increase the armor's AR by +1, but lowers its M.D.C. by -25. The armor's M.D.C. and Armor Rating cannot be decreased to zero or below.
To repair the armor, the armor must absorb additional flowstone. Each 5 lbs (2.3 kg) chunk of flowstone absorbed in this manner will repair 5 points of M.D.C. to the armor. The armor cannot be repaired above its maximum amount of M.D.C. and a suit does not gain additional M.D.C. if the wearer gains an additional level, a new suit of armor would need to be created.
Description: The Flowstone Blade is more than just a weapon, and when a Stone Master that knows Flowstone Magic wields it, the flowstone will expand to cover the wielder's hand and forearm. When not being held, the sword appears to be of normal design, although it is made out of flowstone and weighs 50 lbs (22.7 kg), it can be used by anyone as a sharp sword that will inflict 3D6 S.D.C. in addition to any PS bonus, but has a penalty of -3 to strike and parry due to its heavy weight and awkward balance. In the hands of a Stone Master, the sword weighs only 3 lbs (1.4 kg) and has incredible balance, providing the wielder a bonus of +3 to strike and +2 to parry. If both a Flowstone Sword and a suit of Flowstone Armor is used simultaneously, then the sword will inflict an additional +1D6 M.D. and has an additional +1 to strike and parry. A sword will not increase the damage it inflicts as the Stone Master gains new level; the damage it inflicts is determined when the sword is created. A Stone Master can use a Flowstone Sword that was created by another Stone Master.
The sword is able to change its shape to allow it to cause more damage or to penetrate armor more easily. By spending 10 PPE, the wielder can increase the sword's damage by +1D6 M.D., but lowers its Weapon Rating by -1, or the wielder can increase the sword's WR by +1, but lowers the damage it inflicts by -1D6 M.D. per attack.
To repair the sword, the sword must absorb additional flowstone. Each 5 lbs (2.3 kg) chunk of flowstone absorbed in this manner will repair 5 points of M.D.C. to both the sword and the forearm guard.
Description: The Flowstone Sculpture is a very interesting artifact that can be created by a high ranking Stone Master that specializes in Flowstone Magic. Even though it is available at an earlier level then the Flowstone Hellion, many consider a Flowstone Sculpture to the pinnacle of a Stone Master's power. The sculpture can become so important to a Stone Master that they will build complex defenses around them, including building an entire Stone Pyramid, just to protect a single sculpture.
The sculpture has two powers that make it so important to a Stone Master. Its first power is its ability to transform regular stone into flowstone without needing the Stone Master to expend PPE to do it. This ability is critical for any Stone Master that wants to accumulate a large quantity of flowstone for any purpose, such as building fortifications or even summoning flowstone creatures. As much as 500 lbs (226.8 kg) of rock can be converted into flowstone per day per level of experience of the Stone Master at the time the sculpture was created. This means that in as little as 27 days, a 15th level Stone Master can create the 100 tons (90.7 metric tons) of flowstone needed to summon a Flowstone Hellion. The stone that is to be transformed must be brought within 50' (15.2 m) of the sculpture for its magic to work.
The second major ability of the Flowstone Sculpture is its ability to modify and improve existing flowstone creatures. While this ability does require the Stone Master to expend PPE, given enough time, a large number of flowstone creatures can be vastly improved. The following modifications can be made to any flowstone creature at a cost of 100 PPE: increase IQ by +1 (maximum of 12), increase PS by +1, increase PP by +1, increase Spd by +3 (2 mph / 3.2 km/h), increase M.D.C. by +5, increase damage from one attack by +1 M.D., and increase one combat bonus by +1. The following modifications can be made to any flowstone creature at a cost of 250 PPE: +1 attack per melee, increase Armor Rating of all body parts by +1, increase Weapon Rating of a single attack by +1. The following modifications can be made to any flowstone creature, except those that already possess the ability, at a cost of 500 PPE: add Flowstone Golem Natural Ability 3, add Flowstone Salamander Natural Ability 3, add Flowstone Wyvern Natural Ability 3, or add wings to the flowstone creature that allow a flight speed of 50 mph (80.5 km/h).
Description: This spell creates a strange looking vehicle that can travel through the air, but it is made from flowstone. Just like the normal summoning ritual, the Stone Master must have the flowstone required to cast the spell in direct physical contact during the entire 90 minute ritual for the spell to be successful. The Stone Master any number of Flowstone Thopters, but they can only be piloted by Stone Master, Stone Warlocks, or creatures that can manipulate stone.
There are four seats on the Thopter, the front seat is for the pilot, who must be a Stone Master, Stone Warlock or a creature that can manipulate stone. The rear seat controls the wheel contraptions, which can be used to attack other objects by hitting them with the wheels. The final two seats rest on either side of the main body. In front of each seat is a Flowstone Rock Shooter that fires a 5 lbs (2.3 kg) chunk of flowstone at great speeds. The Thopter has an internal payload of 20 rocks for each shooter before they need to be replenished by the Stone Master. Each Flowstone Rock Shooter is on a small turret that gives it an arc of fire of 45 degrees up, down, and to both sides.
To repair the Thopter, the Thopter must absorb additional flowstone. Each 10 lbs (4.5 kg) chunk of flowstone absorbed in this manner will repair 5 points of M.D.C. to all parts of the Thopter.
Description: This powerful ability allows the Stone Master to transform a huge amount of normal rock into flowstone and creates a tidal wave that will travel across the land in the direction that the Stone Master has chosen. The tidal wave travels at a speed of 50 mph (80.5 km/h) and will lose 1' (0.3 m) of height for every 10' (3.1 m) that it travels, but it will maintain the same width until it is exhausted.
Once the flood has passed over an area, the flowstone will immediately become solid and will function as normal flowstone. The tidal wave will leave a layer of flowstone 3" (7.6 cm) thick on everything in its path with flowstone, covering everything with a layer of the M.D.C. rock. Unprotected people covered by the flowstone, will suffocate from lack of oxygen unless they can be removed from it before they die. The flowstone will have 20 M.D.C. per 5' (1.5 m) area and requires a robotic PS of 60 or a supernatural strength of 40 to break through.
Description: This ability is similar to the powerful Flowstone Flood, but it is much smaller. This spell will transform a large amount of normal rock into flowstone and creates a wave that will travel in the direction that the Stone Master has chosen. The wave travels at a speed of 20 mph (32.2 km/h) and will lose 1' (0.3 m) of height for every 5' (1.5 m) that it travels, but it will maintain the same width until it is exhausted.
Once the wave has passed over an area, the flowstone will immediately become solid and will function as normal flowstone. The wave will leave a layer of flowstone 1" (2.5 cm) thick on everything in its path with flowstone, covering everything with a layer of the M.D.C. rock. Unprotected people covered by the flowstone, will suffocate from lack of oxygen unless they can be removed from it before they die. The flowstone will have 5 M.D.C. per 5' (1.5 m) area and requires a normal PS of 50, robotic PS of 30 or a supernatural strength of 20 to break through.
Description: This useful spell will instantly create a suit of flowstone armor and a flowstone sword that will last until destroyed or the duration for the spell is reached. One suit of armor and one sword is created per casting at level 1, with an additional suit of armor and sword created at levels 5, 10, and 15. Unlike the sword and armor created through the spells Create Flowstone Armor and Create Flowstone Sword, people who are not Stone Masters can use the armor and swords created through this spell. While the armor and sword are still heavy, the armor weighs 50 lbs (22.7 kg) and the sword weighs 15 lbs (6.8 kg), anyone with a normal strength above 15 can use this equipment without penalties. Those with a lower strength will suffer -2 to dodge while wearing the armor and -3 to strike when using the sword. Even with sufficient strength, the armor has poor mobility, giving the wearer a penalty of -20% to prowl and -15% to all other acrobatic skills.
Description: The spell creates what initially appears to be a simple Wall of Stone, except the wall is made of flowstone. What makes this wall very special is that in addition to possessing a large amount of M.D.C., the wall is capable of attacking those that attack it. After each attack source hits the wall, a large flowstone tentacle will extend from the wall and be able to attack the source of the original attack. Each tentacle can extend up to 100' (30.5 m) away from the wall, has three attacks per melee, and has a bonus of +3 to strike, but it cannot dodge or parry any attacks. An attack source is usually an attack from a single target, such as a punch from a suit of power armor, but in the case of very large targets, such as a dragon, specific attacks, such as a tail strike and a bite, are often identified as being different attack sources, so a new tentacle would be created for each attack source, even though each tentacle would attack the dragon. The tentacles will continue to function until destroyed, until their target is destroyed, or until 15 minutes have passed, whichever comes first. There is no limit to the number of tentacles that can be created by the Flowstone Wall. The easiest way to destroy the wall is to attack it outside of the reach of the tentacles.
