Stone Magic was originally created by the ancient Atlanteans, but in the thousands of years since then, this form of magic has spread throughout the megaverse. Among the people that specialize in Stone Magic, are the Splugorth and their minions. They have used Stone Magic to build magnificent cities and massive stone pyramids to control ley lines and nexus points. For many centuries Stone Magic didn't change, but then, about 1300 years ago, a group of True Atlanteans in their secret home in another dimension, devised what has come to be known as Gem Powers and is now a common part of a Stone Master's training, even among the Splugorth and their minions.
Within the past few decades, a similar event has occurred. A small True Atlantean clan has devised another area of Stone Magic that they have called Flowstone Magic. Flowstone Magic is based around the Stone Master's ability to mold stone and move it mentally. By honing those skills, a Stone Master is able to imbue normal stone with magical energy that will transform it into Flowstone, which can then be used in many different applications, and the True Atlanteans are still trying to discover the limits of Flowstone Magic.
While Flowstone Magic is relatively new, it is rapidly spreading among the True Atlantean clans, but it is virtually unknown outside of the clans. As of yet, the Splugorth have not learned of Flowstone Magic, but it is only a matter of time before their allies, the Aerihman clan, learns the true nature of Flowstone Magic and informs their masters. What the Splugorth will do if they learn the secret of Flowstone Magic is unknown, but it probably will not result in any noticeable change.
All Stone Masters that study Flowstone Magic know the abilities listed below. Any Stone Master can study Flowstone Magic, but all Flowstone Magic abilities will start at level 1 regardless of the level of the Stone Master. For example, a 15th level Stone Master could learn Flowstone Magic, but the abilities would begin at 1st level.
Flowstone begins its existence as regular stone, such as granite or slate, but a Stone Master imbues it with magical energy. Once imbued, the regular stone is permanently transformed into flowstone and cannot be changed back to regular stone. Flowstone appears as a tan colored rock that is surprisingly dense, weighing 10 lbs (4.5 kg) for a chunk the size of a normal Human fist. Through the magical process of its creation, flowstone is transformed into an M.D.C. material and will normally have 2 M.D.C. per pound (0.45 kg).
Flowstone is used in all of the Stone Master's Flowstone Magic and some abilities require preexisting amounts of Flowstone to work. Flowstone is solid to everyone except for a Stone Master that is capable of using Flowstone Magic. In the hands of a Stone Master, flowstone can have the consistency of uncooked dough; it is soft to the touch and easy to mold, but holds together firmly, so it is difficult to rip into multiple pieces.
The mental commands of the Stone Master is very important in molding flowstone into a shape the Stone Master wants, such as a jar or a bucket, but it does not require the Stone Master to use the Mold Stone ability. If concentrating on molding the stone, Stone Masters receives a bonus of +10% to their sculpting skill. All Stone Master abilities that work on regular stone, such as Carry Stone and Telekinesis of Stone, functions on flowstone as if it were normal stone.
A Stone Master that has studied the secrets of Flowstone Magic learns all of the following magical abilities:
