many happy returns indeed

what else can i say?

so in the past 23 days i've graduated iin , been accepted into and registered for the immersion program , signed a lease, weaseled out of a lease, and smooth talked my way back into said lease...on averton street, point six miles as the crow flies from where i currently sit, to the southwest yet, which is saying something i suppose. oh yeah, and i've got a new book coming my way. and speaking of books...if you ever pop a key off of your ibook...or if a little creature too cute to ever be mad at does it for you...look here for good sensible directions on how to put it back...this link alone ought to pay you back all the time you've spent vainly perusing these pages.

fall out

escape is at hand

got news from andrew (number 2 ? or just the landlord?) that our apartment is up for condo, and so after a week's deliberation we've settled on getting out of the village for once and for all...hoping it's not really just "many happy returns"...we'll be singing "dem bones" all the way to california i'm sure...

perhaps we should watch all 17 episodes before we have to pack up the vcr...

milky way dreams

teenage mutant

ian had a party at the milky way for his 13th...it was a couple weeks late, chronologically...he drank root beer.

lot's of people showed up...but they wouldn't stay still...

ian seemed more interested in the green lantern anyway...or was that the green arrow?

sounds: joy division...insight
drugs: organic dried mango slices
anticipation: spring
appreciation: the amazing interactions of all of my brains
quandry: reptile vs. übermensch

green beans

and maybe even

8 days later

some things have barely changed

the chairs are back and the mirror car hasn't moved...

south street has some interesting short term landscapes...

and nothing looks as it used to...

back home, the walk up the steps reveals...

a big tree-filled sky!

aquarius party

not only aquarians, of course

k and aquarian george put up the decorations juliann surprised us with...

isis held still while aquarian manny did the blur...and then...married life'll do things to ya i guess...

aquarians george and manny both held still for a moment...

isis and george saw it first...

aquarian ran gave an exuberant whoop before she and manny turned into...a pig and an eagle?

ian began to do the blur even as paula held up the solid world...and alexis did the uri geller thing with a glass of wine

some folks look better sideways...or was the vodka beginnning to take effect?

trying to get a decent shot of alexis while she worked her anti-photo mojo...

and then there were none...at which point i must confess...the party really started to rage once i lost control of my camera!

sounds: the the...dusk; franz ferdinand...ff; earth wind and fire;
drugs: orange mango peach spiked with grey goose
anticipation: spring
appreciation: friends
quandry: alcohol vs. liver

moving again

back to the village

well, it's back to rozzie in a matter of weeks...fifteen days to get this place packed up and ready to go, and then we are on our way to johnswood street on the top of prospect hill. it's a cute little place, with a sun room for yoga, meditation, and massage, and a yard for picnics and gardens and such. it will feel good to be out of the vibes of the dreaded baby hating landlords...

ghosts

it's always delfino

standing outside delfino talking to dav and michael ystdy, and who walks by if not samantha and the ragdoll ...when it rains it pours, eh? lasty time i saw the ex she was walking past delfino as i stood inside the front window, opening a bottle of wine and spieling the specials of the night...it was nice to see her smile, though, and nice to think that i give her a laugh from time to time.

nice place to visit

you know the rest

popped into the village to go to the bank after teaching morning vinyasa and ran into elisa outside the barber shop, then while we were talking manny pulls up in his low rider chomping on a macaroon...funny how ever since i moved away i can't go to roslindale without running into people...

which is the best introduction i've got for these photos from my last big wandering about the village, some time last week.

gorgeous sky that day

alex cook has done a lot for the village

of course i had to stop at fornax, where i heard an interesting story about immigrants and cameras

even the flag looked good!

ah yes...time to sit and watch the cars go by

then again maybe not! nice fisheye tho', eh?

all in all it was a lovely visit...i'm liking the village a lot more now that i am living in jamaica plain. i'm even looking forward to my next trip to the bank!

the new village

too close for comfort?

so it turns out the section of centre street just a few blocks away, home of jp seafood, bukhara, wonder spice, and on and on, is known as jp village . oh well...at least i don't live there.
