4th day at the third mod
working with the chakras and the central channel
on the mid-point day.
early morning pranayama and meditation
set us up for 7 hours of chakra yoga. foolish me wasn't counting on how tough it
can be to crack those first three chakras. whoa! todd put us through the paces.
steve gorn was here tho', playing classical indian ragas on his many bamboo
flutes, as well as his fifth grade clarinet! like a serpentine river, sinuously
twisting and turning, he carried us through all the hard work. and the
savasanas! whoa again! no break thoughs for this kiddo, but what would you
expect? i've got the og bullet-proof ego. never say uncle, that's my motto. at
any rate, it was great to see how the classical hatha yoga progression from
surya namaskars and standing poses to sirsana not only makes sense in terms of
progressively opening up the body but also progressively opens up the chakras.
anyway, my camera went on the blink after i took a pixie of kim up front for her
little birthday celebration (with "a very sattvic cake" of a six inch tall
column candle surrounded by 7 or 8 votive candles), and refused to focus for the
rest of the day...maybe it just needs a good nights sleep. as do i. tomorrow is
a full day of douglas brooks and 7 hours of listening is sure to test my
stamina!
