fantastic session with heather
today...she has such a way to get me to look in the mirror and see myself for
what i am...a holistic health counsellor among other
things...and to get me to recognize my hedges for what they are, pretty green
fences...keeping me in or other people out? either way stopping
connection...
so then...i've re-arranged my calendar, creating space for fun in the middle of all the work, and i've arranged for some help arranging my office, trading massage for professional organizing from my friend kristin mallery of simplify , and i've set up my first presentation as a holistic health coach (yeah, that's right, i'm playing around with the nomenclature), a breathing talk that you'll get the skinny on if you subscribe to my newsletter (contact works better than comment, although i love comments!). and that's that... one thing i noticed int he past year is
that i've actually found it more difficult to drink enough water since i
installed the ro-45 ultra reverse osmosis system last march.
i think it's because prior to that i was either filling up gallons at the ice
house or buying gallons of poland springs and then carrying around a big gallon
jug wherever i went. typical aquarian i guess, or proto aquarian perhaps. since
going for the filter because a) ran didn't like the taste of the icehouse water
and with the baby coming i figured she wasn't going to be able to really get
over there and fill the jugs very easily anyway, b) poland spring is owned by
nestle and we all know what shits they are, and
c) over the course of a year at $10 a week for store bought versus $300 for the
filter system i'm already in the black...well, i've found that not carrying
around the big gallon jugs has definitely affected my water intake for the
worse. plus since i got a bit of a scare from doctor mercola i've also been averse to
carrying water around with
me...
well...better to drink it period i think...but if anyone has any good ideas for a safe and lightweight water carrying system... Posted at 10:28 AM Tue - January 3, 2006waterhow deep is dry?
according to dr. fereydoon batmanghelidj it's one ounce for
every two pounds of body weight and then an extra ounce and a half for each
ounce of caffienated or alcoholic beverage consumed each and every day...that's
a lot of water...at 180 pounds i need to drink 90 ounces a day...that's three
liters a day before i've had a beer! although, synchronistically enough, it's
also approximately 8 twelve ounce glasses...so there we go with conventional
wisdom! at any rate, i'm finding the first thing in the morning (after my morning pages of course) two glasses in a row
routine, which i picked up from some blessed and now forgotten soul 12 years
ago, works wonders at getting my day off to a good wet start. and focusing on
water early in the day helps too...still, sometimes the first trip to the wc
is a
lot more yellow than i'd like ...
