A view of our starting point from Homer, Alaaka. Best way to put people to work is bring a camera out :-) The objective is way in the distance. Lot of digging in 20 degree temps. The barge winch pulling the trencher offshore. We had to dig up the beach to make sure the cable stayed far below grade. Pulling the trencher with the tool of choice...an excavator! The beach.....Some snow and mostly frost. Pulling the bitter end ashore. Lining up the trencher for it's departure. Cable coming up the beach. Pulling the cable to it's terminus. Almost there! Some frost and lots of snow. There are animal tracks behind me....see ya! Me....happy as can be. 1/4 of a mile?? Ok! Give it some water, Jerome!!! The trencher at work. Oooops, we are digging too high.....excavator corrects the problem. Joe Gannon.....loving life. 300 PSI water jetting thru 1/2 holes. Gawd...I look awful!
