Intriguing Names

Carolyn Brown is a substitute teacher from Lancaster, California, USA, but she grew up in Seattle, Washington. Her maiden name is Heia (Norwegian). She writes:
" I ran across the website and have a few names to add. I've noted whether I knew the individual personally.
Misty Gale is a friend of mine, mother of four, husband of John, and they live in Palmdale, California.
Laurel Hedges is a girl I knew for many years growing up at church. She grew up in Seattle, Washington and attended Ingraham High School, graduating in 1981, I believe. Her mom was Koni, now deceased, and her sister Kelly is married and has children. I've since moved but my mom said Laurel divorced but remarried the same fellow, whose last name I don't recall. Laurel was known to occasionally say, "My name is Lauren Ann!" Yeah, well, no one ever called her that.
Forrest Bush is the name listed as pastor on a church sign (forget denomination) in Seattle, on 15th NE. It's no longer listed as it's been more than 20 years, in the 1980's, since it was listed there. The cross street of the church is somewhere about 95th-100th street, as it was near my friend's house who lived on 97th.
Nirvana Morris attended Nathan Hale High School in Seattle, class of '83 or '84, I think. I was '82 and I know she was younger than me. I didn't know her but she's in my yearbook.
Linda Pitchfork was on my mailing list at the University of Washington Experimental College (special interest classes like yoga, calligraphy, or log cabin building) in about 1984-1985.
Kandy Kane attended Jane Addams Junior High School with me (possible high school, we didn't have any more classes together besides jr. high choir) in Seattle in 1976-1979 and her given name was Darlene Kandace Kane, but she went by Kandy.
Fatima Valentine was also in the junior high choir at Jane Addams in the late 1970's.
The following are ones friends told me, so I cannot verify as the above:
My husband told me his elementary school in Brewster, Washington had a teacher who married and became Cora Door. (early to mid-1970s.)
My friend Lisa Krueger also attended Ingraham High School with the aforementioned Laurel Hedges and she and some friends of hers told me about a teacher they had whose name was Roxanne Little. While she was their teacher (about 1979-1981) she married and her new last name was Trees. So she was Roxanne Trees, or in the women's lib trend of the day, Roxanne Little Trees. (say it aloud, you'll get it)
Last of all, and this I can verify, is my poor mother's maiden name. She threatened me (tongue-in-cheek) if I should name a daughter after her. Not only was she chubby, young (skipped a grade) and wore glasses, but her name was Myrtle Villette Canary.
And her mother, my grandmother, Helen Canary, worked at the downtown Bon Marche department store in Seattle in the 1960s-1970s and they had Mrs. Canary, Mrs. Pheasant and Mrs. Crow.
Oh yes, one more. I was a Creative Memories consultant (sold scrapbooking supplies) and I was Carolyn Brown and another consultant, Carol White of Lancaster, California, told me of when they were on one particular air base and they had the typical wives' club. They had Mrs. White, Mrs. Green, Mrs. Black, and Mrs. Gray, I believe it was. They did not have a Mrs. Brown, though.
I substitute teach and whenever I'm in for Amanda Gray at Jack Northrop Elementary in Lancaster, Ca. the kids get a big kick out of accidently calling me their teacher's name, as I'm Ms. Brown. Wrong color, kids!
Well, too much fun, hope you enjoyed these. As I said, I've noted which ones I knew personally."
