More Unusual Names

An email from a name collector in Ohio (December 2004):

"I just ran across the "names" website. Over the last month, I've been tracking down "lost" fraternity brothers, using infospace.com and Yahoo! People search. Below are just a few of the names I've found.
 
Attached is a list that goes back to 1970 at Ohio State University Hospital, which Dr. Art Bolz, recently retired ENT surgeon, and I started. Most were first-hand from patient records (the unit secretaries were very helpful) and personal knowledge. For instance, when I was younger and a boy scout, I was the pack leader for a group of cub scouts in Dayton, Ohio. A physician there was named Dr. Harry Dick; one of his 2 sons was in the cub pack. He also had 2 daughters. They used to get "crank" calls all the time asking for the PENIS residence.  I went to Miami University, Oxford, OH, with Bobby Tarbox and Edwina Pancake. A friend there went to highschool with Clementine Youseldang. Several years ago, Art & I "merged" our list with Robert Hinklin, who also has collected names for decades.
 
I once read an article in PSA (California commuter airline, now defunct) fight magazine by Dr. Joyce Brothers which asserted that teachers subconsciously down-grade students with strange names, compared to students named "normally", e.g. Mary, Jane, Tom, Bob,etc.
 
While teaching at the College of Medicine & Dentistry of NJ, I once read of the longest name, which ran over 90 letters and included several cars-Oldsmobile & Mercedes in the string. The 2nd longest, also, unfortunately, lost to posterity, was one out of Hawaii, which ran better than 40 letters."
