This is a 20 minute breakdown of everything I have found through hours of prodding loan counselors. Please watch and tell me if you've found other information to add and I can make a new version!

  • ALSO exciting is that I am publishing a planner that I have been writing & researching for years on how to build a successful practice, keep motivated and cover all the brilliant habits of those who have attained this goal before us. It is called The Momentum Planner and will soon be available Feb 15th 2012!

Congrats to those who finished with the class of 2011. Don't worry, we all hit a wall of complete uselessness & internal panic without external manifestations after boards; it's recovery. Now that there will be no more classes of 2011, the contents of this website will be moved to the

  • Natural Medicine Network
  • There you'll find resources for boards, an interactive online forum where you can ask questions to other students & practicing doctors and get started on opening your practice. I hope you will join me there!

Current projects YOU can get involved with:

Chitari Hospital It's been coming for quite some time. An integrative inpatient hospital giving patients access to every type of medicine - from standard US model to natural medicine from around the world. A patient will be taken in and routed with a resident to ND, MD, DO, DC and various therapists to get the BEST care that they deserve and that is right for them. Doctors are already volunteering and students are ready for their residency wage in exchange for the best clinical experience available on the continent.

You as a Resident Candidate. There's a massive shortage of residency that each year ends in tears. In an effort to show curious, (but hesitant), doctors who they would have to choose from, there's a student spotlight just for you on the Natural Medicine Network. It's a HUGE commitment to take one of us on for the year - and trust we'll be an asset & not a drain. Let's show the practicing doctors what's in a graduate.

Project Black Book. What has turned into an all classes effort to scavenge for the knowledge of our elders. If you can't preceptor, spy! As you research patient conditions log natural treatments onto a word document. Search Naturopathic Chat online for that illness and log what all of the docs around the country post as their pearls. At present there is a folder on the 2011 listserve, but I'll be password protecting a massive compilation soon... when I figure out how to do that smoothly. You'll need to be a member of the Natural Medicine Network (my other free site) and email me your work. You'll also be able to email with edits to existing documents to add what you've used & heard about for treatments.

  • Your Website I'm teaching a basic class for people with the following: a Mac and a need for a simple website they don't want to dink around with all the time in practice. If this sounds like you and you want to get yourself out early, you know the drill - my email's on the bottom of the page. It would look a little like this: www.thecloverclinic.com

Cooking Show on Youtube. This one I need YOU for. Several doctors have agreed to show a group of us what to do in the kitchen. I'm hoping community education hours will be applicable to this. If you want to help organize, let me know. I won't do it alone for risk of spontaneous combustion.

    Links

Visit the group!  Many people felt obligated to be my friend and I didn't spend a penny in bribes!

It's always good to find cool little sites online that help you remember things.  Thanks SO much to all of you who have posted websites, mnemonics and videos on the listserve.  You're amazing!  I know it really helps a lot of our classmates out in learning all of this.  It helps to intimidate people at the bar to just whip out all this information... and it helps towards becoming a doc.

The Finanical Aid link is to a page specifically concentrated on student issues and a brief overview on loan limits.  It's small, but has some important links.

    Resources

Our class is really helpful to each other.  A few people have taken a lot of time and post their material in listserve... then I go steal it and put it here.  Thanks!!  I'll keep writing practice tests and don't be afraid to alert me to errors.  They too will be available for next year's class!

A workable weekly planner can make decisions for you.   To your right under "Resources" there is a link to Google's master planner.   To best use it, you may want to print it out for the week and fill in the blanks for things you need to do.

Randomly, for now, I'm going to stick a suggested book list I got from the Yahoo posts from upperclassmen/women.  Feel free to add!
