GO SLOW DOWNcloser to free. and closer to
fine.
I have officially survived FAST Week and so made some silly sort of space
for myself as a footnote in Flex-Mode program history. Like last year -- and
the year before that, and the year before that -- I am equal parts exhausted and
exhilarated. It is the only part of my job, extra paycheck or not, for which I
could ever imagine giving up a week's worth of vacation willingly, happily,
hungrily to do.
Because I am tired and contented, and especially because I have a final, celebratory FAST Week dinner to attend in a little more than an hour, I will give you but one humble note from this Friday afternoon, a favorite quotation from a little gem of film called The Flamingo Kid: There are two things that are important in this life: finding out what you do well, and finding out what you love to do. And if God is smiling on you, they're both the same thing. I would never dare to claim that I have seen the face of God. But on lovely, happy, Flex-Mode-Student, FAST-Week-teaching days like this, it sure feels like I can. Posted: Fri - January 13, 2006 at 05:59 PM |
