YOU CAN'T START A FIRE...


...without a soul patrol spark.

A couple of pop culture web sites, including the presumably reliable Entertainment Tonight Online, are reporting that TWM-favorite American Idol contestant Taylor Hicks will sing TWM-uber-idol Bruce Springsteen's great Dancing in the Dark on tonight's semi-final show. The tune comes courtesy of guest-judge and music legend Clive Davis, the man who thirty-four years ago signed Springsteen to his first recording contract and who clearly has not lost his ear for smart, savvy song selection. If this story is true -- and it certainly looks like it is -- it will be the first time Springsteen has cleared one of his songs for use on the show. And it feels like a perfect mix: great song, great timing, great contestant. Should be a lot of fun.
