A friend emails to suggest that he's participated in a seminar with Akhil Reed Amar (the author of the article to which I link below), that he's bright as hell, but that his idea runs afoul of one reality: voters won't go for it.

This is true. Even as it is true that it doesn't matter what the voters would go for, because you know sure as hell these two Brobdingnagian egos masquerading as populist candidates wouldn't go for it first.

But that's okay, too, because -- in case you missed the joke -- I sure as hell wouldn't go for it either.
