ON A PRICKLY PEDESTAL

four more years!

Here are a few key lines from a recent Maureen Dowd column:

[He] sounded whiny... chastising reporters... for asking him hard questions.

Feeling cocky... he called me "MoDowd" and tweaked me for my many columns suggesting he would need to [do better].

He likes being petted on his pedestal.

Let's see. Chastising reporters for asking hard questions. Feeling cocky. Loose with nicknames. Bristling at criticism. Likes to sit on high and have his ego stroked by his friends and advisors. Sounds an awful lot like one of MoDowd's favorite subjects -- good ol' George W. Bush -- doesn't it? Indeed.

But she was writing about Barack Obama.

Interesting. And kind of frightening. If not exactly surprising.

Now. Just imagine what she'd write about him if she didn't like him.
