READY OR NOT

she must be a racist.

Poor Chiaka Fergeson. The young African-American woman is a traitor to her race, and she doesn't even know it:

Ms. Fergeson said she likes Illinois Sen. Barack Obama as well, but she plans to vote for Mrs. Clinton today because "I just feel like he's not ready."

Don't think that makes her sound especially traitorous? Then you haven't been listening to Michelle Obama:

At a November speech in Orangeburg, S.C., she drew a direct line between African-American women like Soujourner Truth and Rosa Parks and her husband's campaign. "These were all women who knew what it meant to overcome," she said. "These were all women who cast aside the voices of doubt and fear that said, 'Wait,' 'You can't do that,' 'It's not your turn,' 'The timing isn't right,' 'The country isn't ready'."

According to Lady McBama, people who oppose her husband's candidacy now, and even people who may have doubts or fears or reservations about his readiness to be president, are just like the people who opposed Sojourner Truth and Rosa Parks then. In other words, they're segregationists at best, blatant racists at worst.

Which must come as a shock to Chiaka Fergeson, who, thinking all along that she should simply vote her conscience, now learns the unfortunate truth that her conscience is no better than the people who, years ago, would have made her ride on the back of their bus.
