Just a little reminder, here at the end of a long and contentious year, that gifts -- especially the ones that only keep on giving if you can convince other people to give you one-and-a-half times as many gifts first -- are always best appreciated in perspective. And so, remembering that UPMC closed its most recent fiscal year with profits excess margin of $618 million, and also that it's profits excess margins have been steadily climbing each of the last few years, here's a little graphical representation of how all that found money breaks down.



Now you can see why they were so worried about those tax credits.
