MORE THOUGHTS ON BREAKING NEWSnow bent like beckham.
Once my eyes were opened to the great numbers of
women who think and write and own a computer on which they can blog, I took a
few hours to look around the internets and discovered that there are also women
who play sports and run companies and hold elected office. I even read about
this one woman who wants to be President of the United States. (I would refer
you to her campaign blog, but some of the posts are
written by men, so it doesn't really
count.)
Wow. What a great country this is when all you need is a laptop, some server space, and a pair of X chromosomes to be part of a social networking trend that has ignited the interest of politicians, companies and the media who see chances to harness the buying and voting power of your well-educated and affluent demographic. Because, let's face it: nothing says liberation quite like corporate and political exploitation. Save, perhaps, for media disproportion. Posted: Wed - October 31, 2007 at 02:33 PM |
