THERE'S PROFIT IN POWER OF ATTORNEYand trust doesn't pay the
bills.
There must be something about
Sundays.
Last week, I recommended a cracker-jack piece of Rolling Stone journalism that I knew would piss you off, but that I knew you absolutely had to read. This week, along comes a cracker-jack piece of Pittsburgh Post-Gazette journalism that will also piss you, but you also have to read. Consider it the yang to last week's yin; another awful story of soulless profiteers trying to suck every last dollar out of the poor, unknowing people who can least afford it. You can read Courting Trouble, the first of a three-part series, here. You can read the second part tomorrow. And along the way, besides getting your dander up and your faith in humanity down, you'll learn why, in the words of a deputy state attorney general, If Jesse James knew about powers of attorney, he'd never have robbed a bank. And then you'll think: we may not have Robert Ford, but at least we have Dennis Roddy. Posted: Sun - September 2, 2007 at 09:36 AM |
