Once
again the City of Edinburgh is one of many cities taking part in
European Mobility Week
In previous years the city has seen a wide range of events to highlight and encourage 'sustainable' forms of transport - walking, cycling and Public Transport.
It doesn’t have to be the car for every journey....
This year's theme is Streets for People. Edinburgh is fortunate that it resisted the idea of urban motorways in the 1960s. Imagine how city life would be with a high speed road - on stilts - through The Meadows (think about it when you're at the fun day on Saturday) and another ring-road section on top of the tranquil Rocheid Path by the Water of Leith in Stockbridge.
