This page will list any cycle projects that have taken place or are planned to take place in Craigmillar.

NOTE this does not mean that Craigmillarcycles will be trying to take credit for anything that people organise. Craigmillarcycles wishes to encourage, help with and publicise any such activities.

At present various things are happening others are being planned - some already funded, others the subject of funding applications.

One past success was a collaboration between Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme and The Bike Station.

This involved pupils from Castlebrae High School (as a result they recently met Prince Edward).

Peter Wright from the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme said "The group from Castlebrae showed the real benefits of this kind of project for that target group. We are very much hoping that given the attention this project is now receiving, it will be rolled out to involve more such school groups."

"He (Earl of Wessex) referred to it in his speech at a fundraising dinner in the Palace that evening."

In 2006 the main success has been at the Venchie with the creation of it's bike club.

2007 starts in January (as usual..) with TWO 'Build a Bike' courses run by the Bike Station. One will be a repeat of Duke of Edinburgh one with pupils from Castlebrae and the other will be for young people in Bingham.
