Third Thursday Lunch The Third Thursday Lunches kicked off this year on September 20 when the Alumnae Association hosted almost 40 alumnae from the 1950’s. The Alumnae Association will continue to host a different decade every month throughout the year. This is a great way to visit with old friends and catch up with activities at your school. The luncheons are free and begin at noon. Check the Alumnae Calendar of events to see when we will be hosting your decade. We look forward to seeing you! Reaching for the Stars and the Suns Construction is underway on the St. Agnes - St. Dominic campus and you can watch our progress. Click on the SUPPORT link on the SAA-SDS website to see construction updates as we grow. Construction began in March on the 27,000 sq. ft. Research Center that will combine library and technology services for students in all grades. The Research Center is scheduled to be completed in late spring 2008. Other capital projects include a new Early Childhood Center and renovations to St. Dominic School and the Dominican Spirituality Center. To date, the school has raised over $14 Million toward our goal of $20 Million. The campaign goal includes both an endowment and capital component. An Evening of Art St. Agnes is hosting “An Evening of Art,” the First Annual BRAVA! Art Show and Sale on Saturday, October 20 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in Siena Hall. Artwork from over 45 local artists will be featured for sale. The evening includes wine, hors d’oeuvres, and music. There is a $10 suggested donation at the door, and a percentage of all sales will benefit BRAVA! The Siena Fine Arts Program of St. Agnes Academy. Drama Department & BRAVA! Presents Godspell The Drama Department and BRAVA! will present Godspell, an exciting musical based on the Gospel of Matthew, October 25-28 in the Siena Performing Arts Center. Evening performances on October 25-27 begin at 7:00 p.m, Sunday, October 28 will be a matinee performance beginning at 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students. You may purchase tickets be calling Ann Lane at 901-435-5837 or email gjordan@saa-sds.org. SAA-SDS Races for The Cure THE RACE IS ON and you can join the St. Agnes Team! Saturday, October 27 is race day at Saddle Creek. Join the St. Agnes team by registering online at www.raceforthecurememphis.org. Click Register in the top right corner. Scroll down under the listing of Teams by Division on the right, and click on St. Agnes - St. Dominic. You can participate in person or as a Spirit Runner, BUT PLEASE PARTICIPATE! Last year the SAA-SDS team raised over $7,000 to support the fight against breast cancer. Career Day On Thursday, February 21 the Upper School SGA will host career day, and we are looking for alumnae who would like to share their story and their career “wisdom” with current St. Agnes students. If you would be interested in participating, please email the alumnae office at gjordan@saa-sds.org. Dominican GALA and Auction This year’s GALA “Under Construction” will be April 12, 2008! The attire is Black Tie & Blue Jeans. The GALA committee is already hard at work planning an exciting evening filled with fun and fabulous auction items. If you are interested in donating auction items, becoming a sponsor or getting tickets, please email Tami Shepard at tshepard@saa-sds.org or call 901-435-5820. Also, there will be an Online Auction again this year. This auction will begin soon and be available for immediate bidding. Check it out and forward your wish list to Santa for Christmas.
