Behind the Scenes

The History of Hunter's Match
Hunter's Match was filmed in the course of two weeks during August 2001. SBOOB Entertainment was responsible for filming this movie, creating the predator, editing the film, and the special effects. Supplies, actors, and the script was supplied by outside sources. This combination soon proved to be much more difficult than first expected.

First, the outside sources responsible for the script were unable to supply SBOOB with storyboards or any visualization of what each scene of the film would actually look like or what exact locations would be used. That fact, coupled with no kind of stage planning (i.e. where each actor will be and what they will be doing in each scene) forced SBOOB into the driver's seat of Hunter's Match. It is safe to say that Hunter's Match had no director on the set at any time.

Second, SBOOB was unable to complete the Predator costume before the two weeks filming began, so any shots involving the Predator were pushed towards the later half of the two weeks. At the same time, the outside sources had yet to finalize an ending for the film, so SBOOB was once again forced to take matters into their own hands and come up with some sort of final climactic scene. Unfortunately, time constraints took their toll on Hunter's Match, and the ending that was filmed is completely useless. So as it stands, Hunter's Match will have an abrupt ending two scenes shorter than it should. Attempts were made to plan and finalize a kick-ass ending, but due to time constraints on the outside sources part, it was never able to see the light of day.

The Rebirth
If Hunter's Match was filmed in the summer of 2001, why isn't it finished yet? Well, because SBOOB grew tired of working on a project that turned out to be a shadow of what it could have been. Why spend hundreds of hours editing and creating special effects for a film that will still be dissapointing? In addition, the outside sources seemed to drop all interest in the film ever seeing the light of day, and with that went SBOOB's interest. Until now.

An entire year has passed since SBOOB last worked on Hunter's Match. SBOOB felt that, even though the film had no ending, there was a lot of good material in Hunter's Match, and a lot of sweat and blood poured into it already; SBOOB didn't want to see that go to waste so easily. The entire editing process has started over from scratch, and as it stands now the film is already in a more complete state than it was last year. This time, SBOOB will be finishing Hunter's Match.

From this site, you'll be able to follow Hunter's Match progression until it is completed in the spring. At that time, SBOOB will offer Hunter's Match on DVD, similar to our Dark Jungle offerings of current. Be sure to keep an eye on this page for any special Behind the Scenes editorials that we post in the future, and be sure to check out the clips, images, and character profiles. Enjoy!
