Suboshi is a member of the Seiryuu Seven, celestial warriors sworn to protect the Priestess of Seiryuu from harm. Suboshi is the younger twin brother of fellow Seiryuu Seven member Amiboshi. However, Suboshi is very different from his brother. Harsher and more apt to anger than his sibling, Suboshi is a fierce and sometimes malicious fighter that, when angry, seems to be in a rage that fuels his abilities. Suboshi's main power comes from limited psychokinesis, channeled through his weapons of choice, two sphere-shaped objects connected by a long string with blades attached to them. When he concentrates on them, the spheres spin with the blades, cutting anything they come into contact with. He sometimes calls these his "Meteor Bells", or "Ryuseisui".

Suboshi introduces himself to Miaka and company at a certain point in the series, but it is with Yui and Nakago that he is first seen. Collaborating with his twin, Suboshi attempts to carry our Nakago's plan to infiltrate the Summoning of Suzaku ceremony held by Miaka and the Suzaku Seven, and almost succeeds. Afterwards, Suboshi is a constant thorn in the Suzaku Seven's side, motivated by the need for revenge and a rage that is seemingly unstoppable.

Suboshi is definitely an emotional individual - however most of this comes from his love and care for his older brother Amiboshi, who he believes has too gentle of a heart to witness the violence that takes place between the Seiryuu and Suzaku Seven. He also harbors an unrequited love for Yui, the Priestess of Seiryuu, and protects her with the fervor of a zealot. It is his love, as well as his strong desire to win that ultimately drives the rage and violent nature of his fighting, and in battle, he is merciless with his "Ryuseisui".
