Random thoughts from his grown fans, on finally meeting an untouchable man.

There were four of us growing up on Staten Island in the 70's

At the time, my Aunt Theresa was 12 years old, my sister Donna was 13, my cousin Patti was 12 and I was 11. We were so close in age that we always hungout together, so naturally we all loved the Bay City Rollers. (Once we even dressed in Roller gear for Halloween)

One year we all begged our parents, to no end, to take us to Michigan for a concert that the BCR's were having, but they just laughed and said "NO WAY".

Well, some twenty odd years later, my cousin Patti approached us, and asked if we wanted to meet Les at a Rave in Atlanta. At first I hesitated. At the time, I was very leery about flying, considering that I was there on 9/11 at the World Trade Center. But with the support of my husband, and with the much appreciated insistence,
of my cousin Patti (plus Les was always my favorite) I went. (Unfortunately, Theresa and Donna couldn't make this one)

So there we were, just the two girls from New York. Patti and I arrived on Friday at the Sheraton Hotel and immediately met some wonderful people who invited us to dinner, then drinks afterwards.

As Patti and I walked across the lobby, I could sense something was happening at the main bar. Suddenly Patti and I were once again twelve years old. As we hugged one another, we slowly began shuffling towards the commotion, and there was Les, just as cute as ever. I couldn't speak! I was in awe! (To this day, Patti still  makes fun of me).

He talked with us, and we even took several photos together. But the one thing that will always stand out during our first meeting was when Les had discovered that my sister Donna, and aunt Theresa, couldn't make it to the show. Right then and there he told Patti to start dialing her cell phone, and that he would speak to both of them. And he did! Theresa was floored once she realized that it was Les on the phone with her. In fact, because of that phone call, Theresa decided to come to New Orleans this year with Patti and myself!

Even though it took us over twenty years to meet Les, (without the help of our parents), we will never forget our Atlanta weekend! Everything about that weekend was incredible! From our first meeting with Les and his band mates, to all of the wonderful people we met from all over the world.

We truly cannot wait for New Orleans Rave 2003 in July. We had a blast!!!
