Republicans love the press, they love 'em

sit, stay roll over
report WMD
report you're either with us or against us (pin that flag on your lapel)
report Saddam did 9/11, or at least wanted to
report that Americans voted on morals, not security, not fear, not misinformation, and certainly don't report that the election was stolen
and don't forget to report how Americans hate them queers, so much so they turned out in droves to punish the liberal hollywood elite for not hating them too

now report that United Nations Oil-for-Food scam is bigger than Enron, even before Paul Volker releases his report on the scandal
good doggy here's a biscuit
and if you're real good, maybe President Bush will even give you you're very own nickname
say... "my bitch".

So I'm watching Lou Dobbs (one of his increasingly rare segments that isn't focused on illegal aliens) and that soft-spoken, sleaze-bag, first-term Senator from Minnesota, Norm Coleman is talking about how Kofi Annan's gotta go. Why?
Well, because the Oil-for-Food scandal that is unfolding is going to be "bigger than Enron".
Make "Enron look like chump change"
That's right we don't exactly have the report yet, but as President Bush is fond of saying "trust me"

At which point Lou slaps Norm in the head and goes... wait a minute I know you guys....
Aren't you the guys who lied about the way Sen. Wellstone's family and friends mourned his death so they could drag your sleazy ass into office?
Aren't you the guys who sold us a bit of goods on "free trade"? (well yeah there's Clinton, but come'on he's practically a Republican, I mean he's to the right of Olympia Snow and Lincoln Chaffee, Am I right?)
And aren't you the guys who told us you knew (KNEW) right where Saddam was keeping the WMD?
That's what Lou did right, RIGHT?

Well no not exactly. Instead he let Norm prattle on about how dirty and irrelevant the UN was and how things just had to change. Starting with Kofi. That pesky African has just gotta go. I mean here are some of the actual quotes"

COLEMAN: I don't know if all this is true. And we're going to find out if it's true. But the bottom line is that the guy overseeing the program, and responsible for overseeing the program, the Secretary- General allowed this to take place, or -- and again, I'm not pointing a finger of accusation, but he was there when the bribery occurred, when the malfeasance occurred, when the fraud occurred, and needs then to step down so that can you have the credibility that you need in order to ferret out the abuse at whatever level it took place.

COLEMAN: ... But they're not going to be able to move if the organization so lacks credibility. If allegations of corruption rise to the highest level, and the person, again, responsible for overseeing the program under his watch, simply continues to stay in power, to stay in place, I think we're on a path, right now, where the U.S./U.N. relationship is in jeopardy and in part, it's in jeopardy, because of a lack of confidence, lack of credibility. Kofi Annan can help his own cause by stepping aside, doing the right thing and allowing us to ferret out the levels of corruption.

COLEMAN: ...From my perspective, Kofi Annan eventually is going to resign. That you're going to see allegation after allegation, new story after new story, keep unfolding. This thing has layers and layers. And it's only going to get worse before it gets better.

And ultimately, if the United Nations doesn't do the things that have to be done to reinstate some level of credibility, with providing greater transparency, then in the end, the U.S./U.N. relationship is going to jeopardized. We're walking down that path. We're not there yet. But I think it's up to Kofi Annan to take some steps to restore some of the lost credibility.

For a second I went whooo are we talking about Bush and Abu Gharib, Halliburton, a lack of WMD, no plan to win the peace, an illegal war, a failure to protect on 9/11? Nope, my bad I forgot, we're talking about Kofi, the UN, and bigger than Enron.

Is this guy for real? I mean I've got issues with the UN that came up long before the current crop of Pharisees began seeing the UN as the One-World-Government foretold in the Book of Revelations, but give me a fucking break. I only wish they would apply the same criteria to Dubyah. If they did, I imagine the Bush girls would have to sober up every Friday so they could visit their dad on weekends. And what did this joker Coleman say? "I don't know if it's true, but...." This from the same people that said "9/11, Saddam, mushroom cloud, WMD, slam dunk" practically all in the same sentence. What is Lou's fucking problem?

....Meanwhile Bush as he is wanton to do, gave away the game plan to anyone who was paying attention. Yesterday he whined north of the border (begin reading like whiny teen not getting his/her way) that he really wanted to work with our friends, BUT the UN has to be focused on security and not on endless debate. (stop reading like a spoiled pampered pet of a teen). Endless debate in George's world - anything over 7 minutes.

Translation: Kofi has got to go because he thinks that the UN is somewhat democratic, instead of a rubber stamp for Yahweh's new chosen people and their emissary King George. Don't you wonder what they're planning next? Oh I don't know, can anyone say the collapse of Saudi Arabia or maybe invading Iran, or Venezuela, or Colombia (a little oil, a lotta coke), or say Canada - how are they for oil anyway? Either way you're either with us or against us.

Say, maybe this one world government isn't such a bad idea after all....
