"Stranger" entered the apartment
Last night a friend from work
needed to spend the night because her car broke down and it was too late to get
it
repaired.
...Buggy's
anal gland business is really irritating, but I don't worry about him causing
bodily damage from his anal glands, ending up with me getting sued and him
getting put to sleep.
Last night a friend from work needed to spend the
night because her car broke down and it was too late to get it repaired. Bodhi
and Buggy see her everyday at work and love her. I was worried she might get
barked at at first, but I didn't think it would that big of an issue. I opened
the door with her behind me and Bodhi went bananas started really barking. I
grabbed his collar, pulled him back, to give him a second to recognize Katie and
chill out. That didn't happen, he never recognized her. She was even wearing
the clothes she had on from work. He had seen her exactly like that just two
hours earlier. Buggy, meanwhile, was also barking ferociously, from a safe
distance away, while expelling his anal glands. What a wonderful
greeting.
I put both dogs in my room,
it was late anyway and time for bed. I kind of wanted to bring Bodhi back out,
on leash, to see if after he was calm, and after Katie was settled if there
would still be an issue.... but the house already smelled like anal gland juice
and I was tired.
I just don't know
what to do. I can't work on this "threshold" issue if Bodhi goes into a rage at
the sight of someone outside of the
door.
I'm moving into a house in August
and I'm real tempted to wait and work on all this when I have more room. Maybe
if I have more room to maneuver it'll be better. I don't want to keep putting
things off while things keep getting worse.
Buggy's anal gland business is really
irritating, but I don't worry about him causing bodily damage from his anal
glands, ending up with me getting sued and him getting put to sleep. Ultimately
I would like to work on Buggy's issues too, but he takes so much of his cues
from Bodhi that I think I need to handle that first.
