Carlsbad Caverns National Park

On a tip from Jeanne via cell phone, we made our way to Carlsbad Caverns with on advance planning. That's the beauty of this lifestyle!

On a whim, we took a one day detour in order to visit Carlsbad Caverns. Three of the four of us were really happy that we did! The caverns are just awesome! View our photos here . Caleb earned his 7th "Jr. Ranger" badge, answering questions and completing activities in his book after taking the self-guided tour. It was really cool in the caverns, and Maggie was protesting the walk most of the way (we were there at her worst time - late afternoon when she should be sleeping). Even so, we were so glad that we got to see it. It was fun to hear Caleb comparing it to Mammoth Caves in Kentucky, and the formations here are just amazing! Wendy had been here as a kid, but it was definitely worth experiencing from an adult perspective.
