Generalissimo Gonzales in Cincinnati

On Tuesday, March 27, 2007, Cincinnati traffic was snarled more than usual, so that our nation's highest law enforcement official, the Top Cop, the Attorney Generalissimo, the Honorable Alberto Gonzales could pay a visit. It is with a sad and twisted sense of irony that I inform you that he was here to speak to a 'neoconned' crowd on the topic of keeping our kids safe online. Now this is a worthy quest and one that I wholeheartedly support. If only it weren't so typically hypocritical of our government.

It was a typically controlled and scripted event, with no questions allowed. The local reporter mentions the 8 attorney firings scandal in his artilcle, though that has no relation to the subject of the event. Why doesn't the reporter mention the ritual sexual abuse of minors in Texas, while the A.G. was in control? At least that topic is related to the event, and it would serve to put into perspective the veracity of his intentions. That is, does the A.G. really want to protect children, or does he just want to give another well-received feel-good propaganda speech in the heart of Neocon, Ohio?

How can Alberto come here to conservative Cincinnati and preach online safety for kids while the Texas Youth Commission slithers on in a pedophiliac scandal that the A.G. apparently has endeavored to hide?

How can Alberto claim to be concerned about rampant child exploitation on the internet, while turning a blind eye to the institutionalized rape and sodomy of 10 to 19 year old boys imprisoned in the Tejas Youth Commission?

How can Alberto blather on about new dramatic radio and TV spots on the dangers of online predators, while those in authority in Tejas are physically abusing children?

How can Alberto tout his "Project Safe Childhood" program when Alberto has no credibility?

How can Alberto do anything other than cite the 5th Amendment when Alberto's time comes? And that time will come...

Maybe there will still be a 5th Amendment then, specially reserved for Alberto's use.
