And Lo, their faces did melt.I drove down to Chattanooga Saturday to catch
Infradig's
final show, on account of my cousin-in-law Josh is the drummer, and I hadn't
hardly ever even seen them play live before. (Man, how did the speed limits in
Indiana and Kentucky go up to 70 without me hearing about it? When did that
happen?) Now I wish I had caught some earlier shows, because this one kicked
more than a little bit of ass. Crowds were surfed upon and faces were melted.
People danced as if there were asses in their pants. It was delightful. (The
bar next door was selling fancy cigars. One of them, which went for something
like $25, was Maker's Mark flavored. Has anybody done a shot of Maker's Mark
and thought to themselves Man oh man,
this is so delicious I wish there were a way to suck it into my mouth and
esophagus areas in a smoke format? I almost
bought one for its sheer ridiculousness, but
no.)
Here's a taste from one of last year's shows: . . They sounded a lot better than you can get from that clip. It was sad to see the end, but let Cousin Linda explain it. It was also good to see some family -- Linda, Josh, Amy, Scott, Scott, Keith, Keith's girlfriend, Aunt Beth, Oak, Meadow, Dove. Thanks for the hospitality. (Amy, I noticed that your hat was in my car somewhere outside of Nashville, but I didn't turn around because turning around is just no fun. I'll have to figure out a way to get it to you.)
