The artwork displayed in this gallery consists of photographs that I take at night on walks with my dog Coltrane. The shapes you'll see are very simple, ordinary light sources. The photo may actually be of a street lamp, porch
lights, cars whizzing by, shiny chrome reflecting the moonlight, or any other ordinary object that catches my
eye with it's shape and reflective potentiality. As I shoot the photo, I manipulate the light waves by using varying
shutter speeds and other photographic devices. I paint the image by moving the camera as I shoot. These photos
are not generated by computer. They are composed by me and are complete once the shutter falls.
This is how my camera sees them.
I believe the unseen world often reveals itself to us at the speed of light. The images that appear on the photographs are entities that dance eternally around us, daring us to discover them. They celebrate the beauty of simplicity, the art
of interpretation, and the magnificence of the brain.
One of my favorite aspects of this medium is that it reminds me of the old Rorschach Ink Blotter tests.
Tell me what you see...
