MURDERERS' SKY
Episode 3-20 [064]
9 May 1988
A Hong Kong cartel plans the takeover of Adam Chen's company, Jade Dragon. Mr. Chen is injured in an explosion, and it's up to MacGyver to find the mogul's young grandson and heir, Luke, who lives in a monastery north of San Francisco. Mr. Chen's condition calls for unusual treatment by Luke to save his life. Meanwhile, Tiu targets the grandson with a dangerous gift of lovebirds in a dart-filled cage and a purse that conceals a snake. Luke and MacGyver barely escape these dangers. Although his condition is improving, Mr. Chen suddenly dies in the hospital as a result of a Chinese herbal poison. Pete and MacGyver check security at the Jade Dragon and uncover Wayne Lim, a recently hired driver, and realize the explosion was an inside job. MacGyver finds Luke in Chinatown looking for the herbal shop that sold the poison. The two are taken by Tiu and Raymond, vice-president of Jade Dragon, to an abandoned building, where Alasdair, entrusted to handle the shady takeover, threatens to kill Luke if he doesn't sign over the company. MacGyver stalls, and the two escape into a tunnel within the building. There they set up booby traps, and the three criminals are stopped.
Luke: What is this place, MacGyver?
MacGyver: Looks like an old opium lab. It's a dead end any way you look at it.
