Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Who's writing this blog, anyway?

I must apologize. I just started the conversation today without introducing myself. I guess it's time to rectify that oversight.

My name is Don Carlile. I gave part of my tech background in my first blog entry, "It's About Time." To fill in a little more, I attended Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1973. I continued on to the University of Illinois in Urbana, where I received my Master of Science, EE, in 1974.

I went to work at a Fortune 500 company, which will remain nameless, in 1975, and I have been there since. In 1980, I ran into my first Apple II, and I have been an Apple guy ever since. in 1984 I got a Mac on my desk at work, and one has been there ever since. Of course, I have bought many Macs of my own since. (too many sinces in this paragraph!)

I hold three Mac OS X certifications, Apple Certified Helpdesk Specialist, Apple Certified Technical Coordinator and Apple Certified System Administrator. I am a member of Apple Developer Connection and Apple Consultants Network.

Although I continue to work at the Fortune 500 company (which is still nameless), I have a one-man company on the outside, Quandir Solutions, which provides consulting services and produces Mac software.

I live in Redondo Beach, CA, so if you have Mac consulting needs in the LA area, please contact me at consulting@quandir.com.
