A Clint World

An underrated gem in Clint Eastwood's filmography finally sees its release on DVD today. No, I'm not talking about "Firefox" (although it was fairly decent) but "A Perfect World." This follow up to Clint's masterpiece "Unforgiven" caught me by suprise on a rental night with solid acting all-around, including an unsympathetic turn by Kevin Costner. Check it out.

Hannibal vs. Superman

Michael Mann. Jonathan Demme. Ridley Scott. Brett Ratner.

Brett Ratner?

The character of Hannibal Lechter has been fawned over by some of the more esteemed film directors of late, but eyebrows were raised when Ratner was pegged to helm the latest Hannibal remake/sequel/for-the-money-flick based on Thomas Harris' novel. Now that Ratner's set to direct the next "Superman," all eyes are on "Dragon's" opening this weekend to see if Ratner really has the talent or if he's got some fairy god-thing as an agent.

I'm going to check out a sneak of"Red Dragon" tonight to see for myself. My excuse: "Hey, it's free."
