Scrub Bashing at Tunbridge Wells Lagoons

I am organising a Sussex Amphibian and Reptile Group (SARG) day out at redundant lagoons near Groombridge (between Crowborough and Tunbridge Wells). Visit to a Victorian Field Pond in Sussex

I am on the committee of the Sussex ARG and edit their newsletter. In November we had a large Victorian field pond restored for the benefit of the resident great crested newts and other wildlife.  This was done with grant from the Lottery and the Herpetofauna Conservation Trust.  GCNs are also present in a small pond in the Walled Garden with smooth newts and frogs.  We also have a good colony of grass snakes and adders have been reported, though these creatures can, of course, be elusive if a large party is walking round.
