Bredhurst Field Day

I hope your diary is marked with the Bredhurst field day on Saturday 14th April!

We are looking forward to an excellent morning of spotting adders and other herptiles in the wooded downland around Bredhurst.  If the weather is good then the field day leader, Kevin Johnson, may also offer you an afternoon walk around Queensdown Warren, another good adder site.

Looking forward to your company. Full details below:

Saturday 14 April. Half day field survey for reptiles at Bredhurst Woodland Project (near Gillingham).

Meeting time: 09.30h

Leader: Kevin Johnson

Meeting place: Bredhurst Village Hall, Hurstwood Road (TQ 797 612).  Hurstwood Road is a turning opposite the Bell pub (ME7 3JY). There is good parking space and easy access to the Woodland near Day Valley. For anyone travelling on the M2 from the Faversham direction, turn off at the Farthing Corner services and take the unofficial exit road (always open) alongside the Travel Lodges, then turn left and follow the winding lane for about a mile into Bredhurst.

Tips:  Stout walking shoes/boots would be advisable as some areas are muddy. The Bell pub offers food and refreshment, alternatively bring a picnic.

The field day is also being advertised by the Bredhurst Woodland Action Group on the BBC website no less!
