KRAG Events 2007


Now that we have a new Events Officer - welcome Mr. Bramley - KRAG have organised an extensive list of events for 2007.

Our new and redesigned website will be up and running soon. All future events will also be listed on the new website. In the meantime, please refer to the following list:

March
Thursday 8th. An evening torchlight survey for amphibians in Whitstable, at either Duncan Downs or Wraik Hill Local Nature Reserve.  Meet time 7pm.  For booking and exact location details contact Mike Phillips on treasurer@kentarg.org.

April
Saturday 14th. Half day field surveying of reptiles at Bredhurst Woodland Project (near Gillingham).  Meet time 09.30h.  Leader Kevin Johnson.  Meeting place is Bredhurst Village Hall, in a side road close to the Church which is well marked on maps. There is good parking space and easy access to the Woodland near Day Valley.  For more details contact Rick Hodges on info@kentarg.org who will forward any messages to Kevin.

Saturday 28th. Half day field surveying for reptiles at Chartwell Estate (West Kent). Meet time 10.00am. Leader Rick Hodges. Meeting place is Toy’s Hill car park at TQ4698 5150. Proceed to the village of Brasted. Follow the signpost to Toy’s Hill. After about 1 mile on your left hand side you will pass the Fox and Hounds pub. Shortly after you will reach the Toy’s Hill car park on you right hand side. This is quite a large parking area but it has a relatively narrow entrance and so it not very visible. Sunday 29th. Leaper and Creepers Day. A family day at Wildwood, near Herne Bay. KRAG will be displaying information about Kent's reptiles and amphibians.

May
Sunday 13th. Outdoor event for Faversham Natural History Society - to be confirmed. Leader Lee Brady. For more information email chairman@kentarg.org.

June
Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th. Kent Goes Wild. A family day at Reculver Country Park, near Herne Bay. KRAG will be displaying information about Kent's reptiles and amphibians. Leaders Sue Young and Mike Phillips. For more details contact Mike on treasurer@kentarg.org.

Saturday 30th. Walkover survey looking for herptiles and mammals from Bridge to Littlebourne and return. Meet time 10.30am in the car park next to the Recreation Ground. Walk distance 5 miles. A joint meeting with Kent Mammal Group. Leader Jon Bramley. For more details email Jon on events@kentarg.org.
