Can I Have Some Chips with That!

Rick's recent episode with the boa constrictor illustrates one of the more unusual records that we sometimes receive at KRAG HQ. Last year we had a giant lizard turn up in Sevenoaks that was later identified as a White-throated monitor!

Even the more typical Kent species can still present a few surprises.

I recently received a record of a grass snake from Sheila Pettett via KRAG's online recording form. One of the great things about the form is that it is very easy to upload photographs that can help tremendously with identification.

"I have seen 3 altogether this year. They are usually in the pond (after my fish!!) Unfortunately my dog caught one (a jack russell) but today I saw one with a half-eaten live fish in its mouth. I have got a very good photo of this if I knew where to send it. This was in the actual garden, the other one I saw later and was in the pond . It was too slim to be the same one."

Many thanks for sharing this excellent photo with us Sheila!
