Henri Cabaniss

Who were his parents?

 

In a recent (May 5, 1999) telephone conversation with Mrs. Alloa Caviness Anderson, the subject of Henri's parents surfaced. Many people are reporting that Henri's parents are Pierre Cabaniss and Ann Soultiere, but Mrs. Anderson isn't so sure that Henri's parentage has been proved. The offering of Henri's parents is based on information about a christening of a Henri Cabaniss, son of Pierre Cabaniss and Ann Soultiere. While the date of the christening places the event in the proper time frame for it to be Henri, no other proof has been provided. Mrs. Anderson is hopeful that a common genealogy pitfall hasn't occurred. You know the pitfall--"They have to same surname (and spell it the same way), so they must be related."
