| The genealogy presented here is my Cabaniss lineage from
my paternal grandfather (Bonnie Cason Cabaniss) to Henri Cabaniss.
Most of the the material presented is from Cabaniss Through
Four Generations: Some Descendants of Matthew and George,
by Allen Cabaniss (d. 1997). For some facts reference is made
to Mrs. Alloa Caviness Anderson's Henry Cavinis, the Immigrant
Infant and Some of His Descendants. I've attemped to provide
sources for all facts; in some instances multiple sources are
cited. For those interested, a gedcom file for Macintosh (created
using Gedcom 5.5) of the genealogy presented is available for

(created using Gedcom 5.5) is here. The siblings of those Cabaniss family members that make up my direct line are presented, but not their wives or descendants. I will, of course, respond to any inquiries about any family member. The image used on this page is of my paternal grandmother's parents, Sarah Alice Barnes and Oscar Thomas Murphy, with their first child, Charles Alymer, "C.A." aka "Pomp." (I've yet to determine how the nickname "Pomp" arose--just another one of those questions that may never be answered.) The photograph is thought to have been taken in 1899. |
