The Birth of
Through A Child’s Eyes:
For several years my daughter had suggested I record a family/children's album. Remembering the songs I sang to both my children when they were small, and how much joy it brought them, my daughter often refers to me as the “Pied Piper” when I sing to children. They seem to be drawn to my music and families seem to be mesmerized as I entertain them.
As I was in the process of producing my latest album, Legacy, my daughter asked, "Dad, when are you going to record a family album?" I told her I didn't have enough ideas for an entire album and she replied, “But I do!” Being a kindergarten teacher with a vivid imagination has allowed her to see things Through A Child's Eyes. I encouraged her to “send me some concept lyrics and I'll see just how good you are”.
When Legacy was near completion, she emailed me her first idea. I was blown away to realize that my daughter had acquired my gift for writing. I quickly produced The Magic Room and included it as a bonus track on the Legacy album. Upon release of the new CD, the response was overwhelming!
My daughter then started sending more concept lyrics on a regular basis. I would rearrange or change the wording in order to melodically fit, wrote music to go with them, did the arrangement and “Voila!” – Through A Child's Eyes was born.
Is Through a Child’s Eyes just for children?
