weekend in telluride
September 2005

The Imogene Pass race is one of the best mountain race courses in the country. It starts in the scenic town of Ouray, climbing 5,300' to top of Imogene Pass at 13,100, then switchbacking down into the even more scenic town of Telluride, with spectacular views of San Juans in every direction. This year, Ryan Roth, Rachel Foss, Scott Elliott and I cruised down for the weekend together. I suffered from end-of-season fatigue and burnout and finished 3rd, but in a time much slower than i hoped for. Ryan and Rachel had great races in their first season of mountain/trail running. Scott is injured this year but has been a great supporter/mentor for many of us.

in addition to the race, we all had a great time in the san juans. we spent two nights in telluride and took the long way home, through scenic blue mesa reservoir, tailor park, cottonwood pass, buena vista and leadville. below are some photos from the weekend.
