The following are just a few random links to introduce you to a much larger and better world.

Or if you would rather me just cut the bullshit:

News Get Active
Because we all need bias a little to the left sometimes. This online news service dares to ask and answer the questions the established media can't or won't. But that's the point of alternative media: watchdog the watchdog.

For being a government monopoly global news service, the BBC gets it right, even when the "free" U.S. media doesn't.

The channel claims to be the most trusted name in news. I go along with it simply because a) It's not Fox News; and b) It's not Microsoft tainted (i.e. MSNBC).

The Register offers a sometimes sarcastic, other times witty news service covering all that is geekdom: computers, the Internet and everything else technology-related.

The following links are nonpartisan sites offering information on the U.S. Government:

Formed in 1992, Project Vote Smart, provides information such as voting dates, ballot issues and candidates for the national and state levels of government. Included is a breakdown of the how the election process works in this country. Sadly, something this country desperately needs.

The Center for Public Integrity is also a nonprofit organization, with its basis in journalism. Get in the know about all aspects of what's happening on the Hill.
Citizens Against Government Waste is also a nonprofit organization with a goal of bringing government waste to the taxpayers' attention for the purpose of fixing the blatant overspending.

From Inconvenient Truth, the movie by Al Gore about global warming comes Climate Crisis

Environmental Defense Logo Probably the most activist-like I've been is on the environment. I already write to my Senators and Representative regularly, but Environmental Defense, the politically driven "tree-hugging" organization, keeps me current on environmental bills in Congress, allowing my letter-writing to be all the more frequent.

So the group can be a little bit militant, but, hey, so are the corporations. You can do a lot with them and not fund any of the crazy stuff. Check 'em out. They'll keep you current on environmental issues and happenings from around the globe.

This group is probably one of the more politically prominent of the environmentalists. Most any article dealing with environmental legislation has a quote from someone in this organization. Maybe you can find a chapter in your city or state and get active.

Visit the Democratic National Committee Web site for all things Democratic.

MoveOn.org is rather left-of-center. You may have heard of them after CBS refused to run their "Child's Pay" ad during the Super Bowl in '04. The ad criticizes the growing deficit under "President" George W. Bush. Need I say more?
They were also called extremist by political ads the greater Philadelphia area media market. I don't know why not being Republican is now "extremist" and/or immoral...
