Holi
party for Indian spring festival
It seems that most culture end up having some festivals around the
significant events on the solar calendar - like the solstices and equinoxes. And
since the bulk of the population has traditionally lived on the northern
hemisphere, the more significant ones usually fall on the winter and spring
ones. One of the Indian festivals around the time of the spring equinox is
called Holi and involves celebrating spring by all means necessary, like
throwing color at each other.
