After practically my entire team had been laid off, it had become much harder to ignore that my job had long before become a pointless dead-end. I had stayed there only because I was working with what might very well be the most outstanding team in my career - even though our efforts most were going nowhere in the larger context of the company we worked for.

Since unfortunately the same company refused to lay me off as well (the severance packages being rather generous compared to recent times...), I had to take matters into my own hands and quite today on my own.
