BODIES - the Exhibition
South Street Seaport
A pretty unique spectacle of seeing human bodies prepared for anatomical
displays and preserved in polymers. What most people have only seen in books and
drawings creates a very different impression when looking at it as a real
3-dimensional structure. Most impressive is how small the core of the body with
all its densely packed organs really is once skin, fat muscles and bones are
removed. Students carrying anatomy textbooks and having excited discussions
pointing out things in latin shows that even people who deal with the inner
workings of the human body don't get to see such details very
often.
