Pith!

Fringe Fesitval - The Connelly Theatre - 220 E 4th St (Ave A/B)

A stranger who wanders into town becomes the catalyst for a wealty widow whose husband has disappeared in the jungle of South America over 10 years ago to finally come to closure with her loss and move on. The whole by enticing her and her servant to take an imaginary voyage, a search and rescue mission for her missing husband to South America, which turns out into tacky and over the top role playing as an outlet for repressed fantasies right in the living room of a stately New England home. There is no "Mr. Livingston, I presume" ending in the middle of the ficticious Amazon, but she can finally get herself to accept that her husband is most likely dead and symbolically bury him and move on with her life. A nice reminder of the power and freedom of one's imagination and why acting and theater exists to begin with... probably my favorite show (so far) of this year's Fringe Festival.
