Khirov Orchestra
at Carnegie Hall
A performance with only one piece, the symphony No 2 "Resurrection" by
Gustav Mahler of a monumental 90 minutes. I guess composers at the turn of the
century just weren't too considerate for the needs of CD publishers, the 30s
attention span of the public or the need of radio stations to break for
commercials every few minutes... From the sound of it, I would have place it
closer to the middle of the 20th century than to the late 19th.
