Easton to Vantage, Washington - 71 Miles

An important attribute of riding a bike is having the proper hair. Here, I demonstrate an excellent case of Helmet Hair. We're riding from Easton Wa, to the metropolis of Vantage on the Columbia River. It was a nice ride and good day, but we did have temperatures in excess of 100 degrees in the desert before we dropped down into Vantage. In addition, there was a nice headwind up the pass, and all the way down the hill, so we had to work for every inch. We immediately jumped into the cool swimming pool at the campground, and comsumed the requisite pasta dinner.

Scott and  with our day 2 jerseys on. The river is in the background and it's a beautiful early morning ride through the countryside between Easton and Ellensberg. People are starting to speculate about how many matching jerseys we have. Only the Shadow knows. The famous Ellensbery winds didn't materialize until the late afternoon, much to our gratitude.

My sister Barbara with her family including my nephews Kevin and Peter. They visited at the campground in Vantage. They even managed to find us with my cellphone out of commission. In addition, they got to each some great canned peas at the restaurant! Thanks for the visit as well as the great fundraising they carried out at their winery for my Big Ride!

The email I'll use this summer is brucesherman@mac.com. Send mail to this address to say hello and I'll be able to read it on the ride.
