Seattle to Easton, Washington - 80 Miles

It was a beautiful morning at Stan Sayre's pits, also know as the hydroplane pits. The temp was already in the mid 60's as the group shown in the picture prepared to leave on the Big Ride. We had great weather all day (meaning some people had sunburns.) The various climbs between Lake Washington and Snoqualmie Summit were at their best. My motto for the trip this year is "ride the hill you're on". Even our time on the freeway afforded interesting views. I found later that Scott saw the same electric stove burner laying by the side of the road and almost picked it up. Great minds think alike.

My friend Chris, his new wife Liz, and young Master Lucas joined us as dinner tonight in our lovely camp. We are at the Easton Lake State park, which is almost deserted despite being a very nice place. We're all learning our places in the flow of things, and my KP team was in first place. We got to learn all about fixing lunch and breakfast and helping out the dinner people (who happened to be made up of some of last years riders.).
Scott and I are sorting through all the junk we brought and trying to figure out where to jettison some ballast.
All in all, a great day and good weather tomorrow for our trip through Ellensberg to Vantage on the Columbia River.

The email I'll use this summer is brucesherman@mac.com. Send mail to this address to say hello and I'll be able to read it on the ride.
