The water from the thruster impeller is directed to one side of the ship or another by steel vanes on the discharge side of the unit. One of these is shown in this picture. Unfortunately, the rusty steel section on the right is supposed to be welded to the rest of the vane on the left. We had to cut this errant piect off, and fit and weld a new one into place. The yard did an excellent repair job on this unit.
